Andy Snyder from The Ready Set has announced on his Tumblr blog that he’s leaving The Ready Set, because “music wasn’t even something I had seen myself doing“. He will play the upcoming Canadian shows, and will end his story with the band. You can read the entire statement below.
To whom it may concern,
The past six months could pretty much serve as a culmination of what is possible in this little world for sole being. And it is an adequate time frame to express what I’m attempting to express in this post.
Starting in January I travelled to Thailand for two weeks with 100% thanks to my girlfriend, Ellie, and her family. Almost immediately after we landed in the states, I was hustled to prepare for a TRS world tour. I got to travel with some of my best friends in the world to the Philippines, Australia, Brazil, and Chile to play music. We then continued on to tour the US for the millionth time and play music to some of the coolest fans in the world. In the course of the past three and half years, that has been my story. Everyday was a possible adventure waiting to happen and the stories are countless.
I’ve recently felt that it is time to start a new chapter for me, myself, and I. I am not a person of single interests and talents. To be honest, music wasn’t even something I had seen myself doing. I have mentioned to many fans/friends that music is basically a hobby turned into whatever this touring thing is for me. Hopping in an SUV with Jordan, Tyler, and George for the first time was honestly terrifying, but that’s what made it so fun. Doing something completely out of my element and not turning back. Not many people get to experience even that much, and to think that we’ve played shows with attendance ranging from 1 person to 20,000 is still a dream. I’ll never wake up from that and it’s made me who I am today.
So, I’m writing this to let all of the incredible GIANTS out there that my time with TRS is up. I’ve seen a few people come and go in this group and I’ve been asked many questions by you guys concerning the reason “why”. It’s only fair that you do get to hear from me directly, that this has been my choice. The details aren’t what is important. This guy is ready for the next chapter in the story. Cheesy? Yes, but when did I ever say I wasn’t cheesy? (A Wisconsin pun was considered in this.)
Have I decided to walk away from the possibility of touring forever? Absolutely not, but I’m going to pursue and focus on other big interests in my life. That has probably been a little obvious to some who keep tabs on me via my recently skateboard stained twitter page, but I promise there will be diversity in future videos. I’ve been working with the city of Green Bay on a very cool project, and I’ve been thinking about taking a swing at a further education as well.
So to wrap this up, I love my TRS dudes, I love you GIANTS, and I hope to see you out there in this little world! Thank you for the hugs, high fives, kisses on the cheek, taking pictures with me, the great conversations, the gift cards, the stuffed animals, the good times and the bad, and most of all for helping me live this dream. You’ve left your mark on me and I hope I’ve done the same for you. Who knows what the future will hold. I assume there may be questions on here and my twitter, so I’d be happy to address those in the future.
To those of you who are attending the Canadian shows and anything else around that time, I’ll be playing my heart out with Jordan, Deryck, and Trav for the last few times! Go hard if you’re attending.
