Meet Cassadee Pope of Hey Monday (Zap2It)

It’s becoming increasingly rare that a contestant on“The Voice” is able to make Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo Green, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton all turn their chairs around — but Cassadee Pope made it look easy. (Okay, so Cee-Lo hesitated a bit. But not for long.)

Pope is young but no newbie to music. She was in the popular band Hey Monday, which toured with Fall Out Boy — Pete Wentz even made a video to show his support for the singer. (Uh, and if you’re anything like us, you might recognize her from “Degrassi Goes Hollywood,” when she made a cameo appearance at the Canadian store eating ketchup chips with Wentz and Craig Manning. Just saying.)

She chose to sing Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn,” and got standing ovations from all four judges after adding a new twist to the familiar song.

Ultimately, Pope chose Team Blake after he told her that he believes with “200%” of his heart that she will be a “superstar.”

Taste Of Country

All four of the coaches turned their chairs around for Cassadee Pope, who was in a band called Hey Monday and is now attempting a solo career. She had loads of style, with her tattoos and multi-colored hair, and her sexy vibrato voice when singing Natalie Imbruglia’s ‘Torn.’

Shelton’s pitch to join his team was simple; he told her he believed with 200 percent of his heart that she is a superstar. While Aguilera and Levine vied over her loudly, she said she had to go with her heart and chose Shelton. He was beyond stoked to win over Levine – again- and the rest of the judges were visibly disappointed that she didn’t choose them.

Her Wikipedia page says her middle name is Blake, so it was fate on another level.
